What to Get Your Guys for the Holidays
It’s finally starting to feel like the holidays are approaching (insert stress-joy combo here)! This week I’m excited to have Thanksgiving at our house (we haven’t hosted in more than five years!), visit the tree farm and cut down this year’s Christmas tree and travel to the in-laws to have yet another Thanksgiving. Oh, and start listening to my Mariah Carey Christmas CD. I love this time of year, y’all! But, you know what one of the hardest parts of the season is? Gift buying! I’ve usually got the girls squared away long before the guys, so that’s why I decided to include my manly gift guide a week earlier than the girls…I mean, aren’t guys just so hard to figure out?? Of course, last week I gave you some toddler ideas for boys, so this week we’re focusing on the adults…think significant other, dad, father-in-law, brother-in-law, nephew, you get the picture…
For Your Husband
Crocs Cobbler Hiker Boot ($99.99)
Before you roll your eyes, just look at these boots. Aren’t they terrific? I’ve always reserved the Crocs clogs for the little ones, so I was so glad to see the brand make some new, chic styles for both men and women this season (they have some super-cute riding boots for women, seriously!). If your guy is anything like mine, he loooooves the outdoors. And even if he isn’t? Every guys needs a great pair of hiking boots in his closet because they make any winter outfit look that much classier in an instant (leave the tennis shoes for athletic events or around the house). And if you buy them, your guy’s guaranteed to wear them, right? Um, yeah, that’s my strategy! P.S. These come in both espresso and black.
For Your In-Laws
OMNIMAN All-Natural Grooming Products ($16-32)
In our household, we just discovered this line of men’s skincare products – including moisturizer, face wash and shaving cream – and what a nice discovery! Before now, we had never really found any men’s grooming products (period) that were free of the nasties (parabens, synthetic sulfates, synthetic fragrances and synthetic colors). I know how hard it is to avoid these things always (especially in everyday beauty products), but if you can, why wouldn’t you? Especially if you’re putting it directly on your skin! Never fear, the formulas address skin concerns (the face wash is great for uneven skin tone/redness) – just in the most natural way possible (so many luxurious botanical extracts!). The in-laws will be impressed.
For Your Nephew
Sephora Favorites Fragrance Sampler for HIM ($50…$90 value!)
Nephews like to be so cool (well mine is in junior high, so certainly does…might I mention he was just named MVP?), so this is really the perfect gift for him. He’s really gonna freak when he sees that not only does this cologne sampler include 12 amazing designer fragrances (from Dolce & Gabanna and Gucci to Lacoste and Versace), but also a deluxe sample of Jack Black Post Shave Cooling Gel. So cool…literally. P.S. There’s also a voucher good for any full-size fragrance of any of these…wow!
For Your Dad
Birchbox Man ($20/month)
Ok, you’re literally gonna spoil your dad with this one. Birchbox is something all of us girls are pretty much addicted to by now, but did you know you can purchase a monthly subscription for the men in your life? Oh, yes! And personally, my dad loves to pamper himself (runs in the family), so I’m thinking this is gonna be his best Christmas present yet! (um, and I’m hoping you‘re not reading, daddy…) This season, they even have exclusive holiday gift sets (even more fun!) with everything from Anthony Logistics travel-size skincare to Malin+Goetz products – and even a knit tie from The Knottery or lightweight watch from rumbaTIME. This is something your dad can look forward to every, single month – besides visits from you, of course.
For Everyone Else
Ralph Lauren Big Pony Fragrance Collection “Create Your Own” ($67.50-89.50)
One of my fav men’s fragrance collections of all time is the Big Pony Collection from Ralph Lauren. It doesn’t get any better than this! And now? You can customize the bottle…squeal!! I’m a sucker for personalizing anything (little C. had his name engraved on practically everything I could get my little hands on when he was born), so this makes me happy. And it makes that gift all the more special, right? P.S. You can add up to 10 characters (I’m thinking sweetie would be just darling!). Oh, and here’s a quick guide to the scents...
